DIY Green Tea Toner

One of my main focuses when it comes to my beauty regimen is using all natural ingredients as much as possible. Its very important to me to know exactly what I'm putting on my face and body and the benefits of each ingredient. It was only a matter of time before I started making my own toner lol. A toner should definitely be part of your skincare regimen. Its an essential for the health and appearance of your skin!

Let's start off with the benefits of a toner:
  1. Provides hydration to your skin and removes dead skin cells
  2. Tightens your pores to block out dirt and toxins that can lead to acne
  3. Gives the appearance of brighter, healthier skin
  4. Reduces facial blemishes and acne
  5. Helps balance the natural oils your skin produces and helps reduce the appearance of oily skin

For a long time I didn't use toners because they would over dry my skin and irritate it. I discovered the trick is to have a well formulated toner that's beneficial to your skin and gentle enough to use on  a regular basis. That is exactly why I make my own toner now! :o)

Let's talk about the ingredients !
  • Green Tea Water is great for your skin. Water itself helps with hydration and moisture to your skin. Green Tea has numerous benefits; It helps with signs of aging and brighter, radiant skin.
  • Tea Tree Oil has antibacterial properties in it. It helps with treating existing acne, it also helps prevent dirt and toxins from penetrating pores which can lead to acne or breakouts.
  • Argan Oil is my favorite oil to use for my face. It's a lightweight oil that provides moisture to the skin without clogging pores or causing your skin to produce excess oil.
Now that we've gone over why this toner is so awesome, let me show you guys how easy it is to make it.

What you'll need:

(100% Pure argan oil & Tea tree oil)

  1. Grab the bottle you plan on putting your toner in. I got my bottle from Forever 21; you can find similar bottles in the travel toiletry section in stores.
  2. Take your pot and fill it with just enough water for the tea bag to be submerged and covered. We want the water to be concentrated with green tea to get the full benefits; so again only enough water to cover the tea bag . Boil the water on high heat.
  3. Once your water is boiling move the tea bag around to make sure the tea is steeping. About a minute after the water starts boiling, turn off the heat and let it cool for about 5 minutes.
  4. Now we are going to fill our bottle with the water. 90% of the bottle will be the green tea water.
  5. Grab your tea tree oil. One good thing about this oil is that a little goes a long way! A drop, literally a DROP is all you need. Tea tree oil is super strong and can be very overwhelming, so BE MINDFUL OF THE AMOUNT YOU ADD. A small amount is all you need to reap the wonderful benefits!
  6. Grab you argan oil. A small drop is all we need to help lock moisture into the skin.
     7.  Shake it up well!

There you have it, a simple DIY toner that your skin will LOVE! I just saved you money and helped you with keeping your skin flawless and healthy!

How to use toner (Just in case you didn't know)

After your face is cleansed take a cotton ball, apply a dab of toner and wipe it over your face and neck. I use this toner about 3-4 times a week. Keep in mind excess use can lead to irritation and dry skin. After you apply your toner follow up with a moisturizer!

Let me know if you like this toner and if it works out for you!

Until next time love bugs , xoxo
